Ashtanga Workshop : The Meaning of Sanskrit Counted Method by Dorothy

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras 1.2: ‘yogaḥ citta vṛtti nirodhaḥ’

This method of yoga is ‘the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind’

Ekam…Dwe….Trini….Catvari….Punca…Sat…Supta….

Yoga is a MIND-CONTROL exercise, beyond the physical realm.

You will learn the ancient Sanskrit Counted Method in the formulated sequence of breaths and movement of Ashtanga Yoga. Eventually, you will create your own extraordinary power through the Vinyasa counts that leads to a transcendental, mind-over-body experience.

About Dorothy Loh

She has been practicing the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga over 15 years, under direct mentorship of Manju Jois and John Scott.

She has since been assisting and teaching with John across the world to pass on her limited knowledge of Yoga to the growing community.

She is authorised by Manju to teach officially under the European Academy of  Yoga.

Dorothy Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training (200hr)

5 May (Sun) to 29 Sept (Sun) 2024

The Training, consisting of 4 modules spreading over 5 months (May to Sept):

Module 1/ Philosophy/Yoga Sutra Study

Module 2/ Hands-on Adjustment Methodology & Yoga Therapy 

Module 3/ Asana Clinic  

Module 4/ Sanskrit Counting, Vedic Chanting & Pranayama

Half way through the course, teacher trainees are required to assist in classes to practice hands-on adjustments on practitioners

Additional Notes:

1/ Teachers of all styles and experienced practitioners are delightfully welcomed.

2/ Individual modules can be enrolled although full commitment to the full training is preferred. (Please see payment option #3 for details below)

 
 
  • 1/ 2 instalments: 50% on 5 May; 50% by 14 July (before term break)

    2/ Payment by Module: $8,000 for SINGLE module; $7,500 EACH for enrolment of 2 or more modules

    *A therapeutic, restorative practice will be introduced in Moon days and menstruation days*
